UPDATED PRACTICAL GRADING PROCEDURES – SIMULATED PRODUCTS NO LONGER ALLOWED EFFECTIVE 11/1/2021:
The NIC Executive Board recently revisited the temporary authorization to accept "best attempt" or "simulated product" for disinfectant wipes for Practical exams and has reinstated the original requirement regarding the use of disinfectant wipes, and will no longer accept "best attempt" or "simulated products" in the testing centers.
Effective November 1, 2021, all practical exam candidates will be required to use EPA registered, disinfectant WIPES that demonstrate bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal properties, as outlined in the Candidate Information Bulletin. This information is located in the practical candidate handbook. Candidates MUST use only DISINFECTING WIPES during the practical exams. Spray disinfectants will NOT be permitted. In addition, simulated hand sanitizer and antiseptics will no longer be accepted. Please make sure you purchase supplies well in advance of your scheduled exam, to insure you have the required supplies.
Candidate that do not have proper hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and/or antiseptic, will be deducted points as of November 1. 2021. REMINDER - EFFECTIVE 7/1/2020: Candidates MUST use only DISINFECTING WIPES during the practical exams. Spray disinfectants will NOT be permitted.
MASK REQUIREMENT
Attention: As of May 1, 2022, Prometric will no longer require candidates or test center personnel to wear masks unless required to do so by building management or local government mandates.In light of recent trends and mask mandate changes around the world, along with updated guidance from leading world health organizations, Prometric will not require masks to be worn in test centers, however we will continue to allow and encourage the wearing of masks regardless of mandate or vaccination status. Thus, any candidate or staff member that prefers to wear a mask will feel comfortable doing so. We will also always follow the guidance of local government and health officials, so when masks are mandated in a market, Prometric will continue to follow that guidance in test centers as well. All candidates must comply with any other local or federal mandates and guidelines.
